With support from Galerie Ora-Ora, Naxos International and Takako Nishizaki Violin Studio, celebrated Korean violinist Hyejin Chung’s recital will take place at the Maritime Museum this October.
A musical highlight of Festive Korea 2016, Chung will be accompanied by Hong Kong pianist Warren Lee, her recording partner from her debut classical album “Schubert Three Sonatas for Violin and Piano” through Naxos International. The recital will include a repertory of classical favourites from Mozart, Seitz, Tchaikovsky and more.
Chung, who studied at the Moscow State Conservatory, now focuses on playing chamber music and teaching at Takako Nishizaki Violin Studio. She has won numerous international competitions and has performed with St. Petersburg Camerata Orchestra, Vienna Mozart Orchestra and other world-leading orchestras. Lee, a Steinway Artist and graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and Yale School of Music, was the first-prize winner of the 1995 Stravinsky Awards International Piano Competition and the Grand Prix Ivo Pogorelich.
